After an extended wait, Android 13 is finally available for Nothing Phone 1 users. The operating system features the Nothing OS 1.5 overlay, which introduces several meaningful adjustments to the otherwise entirely stock Android experience. The update boasts a new Nothing weather app, additional Glyph ringtones and notification sounds, and a few UI enhancements.
Nothing claims that the Android 13 update enhances performance, citing a 50% improvement in app loading speeds. The animations for locking and unlocking the phone have also been improved. In addition to a more refined appearance for the camera app, new media and volume controls have been introduced as part of the Android 13 redesign. The revamped media controls exhibit album artwork with a broader range of music controls.
Customisation has been expanded with the inclusion of more colour schemes that better match apps and icons with the current wallpaper. You can now add shortcuts for the camera, torch, device controls, and wallet right on your lock screen.
