All three new Oppo Reno models feature high-refresh-rate AMOLED screen panels, MediaTek / Snapdragon SoCs, triple primary camera modules, large selfie sensors, and 80W fast charging technology. The series' Oppo Reno 8 Pro is equipped with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset.

On Monday, the latest Oppo smartphones were released in China. The designs of the three smartphones are similar, but their functions are different.

The standard Reno 8 features are a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 6nm processor with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of native storage. For security, Oppo reno8 has an in-display fingerprint sensor and ColorOS 12.1 for software operations, based on Android 12.

While the Oppo Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro have storage options of 8GB of RAM + 128GB, 8GB of RAM + 256GB, and 12GB of RAM + 256GB, the Oppo Reno Pro+ has storage options of 8GB of RAM + 256GB and 12GB of RAM + 256GB.

At the time of writing, the Oppo Reno 8 series is only available in China. The global availability and pricing of this phone are yet to be announced.

The vanilla version of the Oppo Reno 8 comes with a 50MP main camera, a 2MP W-band shooter, and a 2MP macro lens for optics. A large 32MP sensor is available for selfie enthusiasts. The 5G smartphone is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery, which charges quickly thanks to the support for 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.

Oppo RENO 8 PRO+ DETAILS AND FEATURES

Reno 8 Pro+ has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone features a hole punch cutout in the center that houses a 32MP selfie camera with autofocus.

The same MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max chip that powers the OnePlus 10R is used here (first impressions). Added to this are up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 memory. ColorOS 12.1 is the operating system, based on Android 12.

The Reno 8 Pro+ has a triple camera setup on the back, with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.

A 4,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support powers the device.

Oppo RENO 8 PRO DETAILS AND FEATURES

The Oppo Reno 8 starts at CNY 2499 (about Rs 29,000), in China. This is for a model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It is also available with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for CNY 2699. (roughly Rs 31,500). A version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will cost CNY 2999. (roughly Rs 35,000).

In China, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ starts at CNY 3699. (roughly Rs 43,000). This is for a model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A version with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage will cost CNY 3999. (roughly Rs 46,600).

Is the Oppo Reno 8 Series Coming to India?

In China, the Oppo Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and Reno 8 Pro+ are now available for pre-order. While the company has yet to make an official announcement, they are expected to arrive on Indian soil shortly.

The Reno 8 Pro recently completed the Indian BIS approval process, indicating an impending launch in the country. Keep an eye out for an official announcement very soon.
