Apple is reportedly working on an upcoming feature that is expected to be introduced with iOS 17. This feature aims to transform a locked iPhone into a display resembling a Smart Home interface. According to a report by renowned tech journalist Mark Gurman, the revamped interface will provide users with convenient access to various information such as calendar appointments, weather updates, and locked notifications. The design of the interface is said to take inspiration from popular smart home devices offered by companies like Google and Amazon.

The report suggests that Apple plans to employ a visually appealing combination of dark backgrounds and bright text to ensure readability even from a distance. While Gurman mentions that Apple is also considering bringing this smart home-style feature to the iPad, it might not be introduced as quickly as it is for the iPhone due to the absence of lock screen widgets on iPads at the moment. Additionally, the report hints at significant changes coming to Apple's Wallet app in iOS 17, along with improvements to location services.

In other news, Apple has recently rolled out the iOS 16.5 software update, which introduces a new Sports tab within the News app. This dedicated tab serves as a centralized hub for users to access scores, match schedules, and articles related to their favorite sports teams
