As a technology journalist with years of experience reviewing gadgets, I've put together this comprehensive guide to help you navigate the market in 2025.

Whether you're a student in a small apartment, a family in a tier-2 city, or someone upgrading an old CRT TV, this guide will help you make an informed choice. We'll cover key buying factors, detailed model reviews, a comparison table, and tips on where to buy. By the end, you'll be ready to pick the perfect budget TV that fits your needs.

Why Choose a TV Under 10000 in India?

In 2025, the Indian TV market is booming with affordable options thanks to brands competing to offer value-for-money products. According to recent reports, budget TVs under ₹10,000 account for a significant share of sales, especially in rural and semi-urban areas where cost is a major factor. These TVs are ideal for secondary rooms like kitchens or bedrooms, or as a first TV for young professionals.

Gone are the days when cheap meant poor quality. Today's budget models come with LED screens, HD resolution, and even smart features like built-in apps for YouTube and streaming. Brands like Kodak, Infinix, and TCL have made QLED technology accessible at low prices, offering better color and brightness than older LCDs. For Indian consumers, these TVs support Hindi interfaces, have robust builds to handle dust and humidity, and often include features like USB playback for local media files.

However, expectations should be realistic. At this price, you won't get 4K resolution or premium sound systems, but you can still enjoy a decent viewing experience. With inflation and rising costs, finding reliable options under ₹10,000 is a smart move, especially during sales like Amazon's Great Indian Festival or Flipkart's Big Billion Days.

Key Factors to Consider When Buying a TV Under 10000

Before diving into specific models, let's break down what to look for in a budget TV. This buying guide section will help you evaluate options based on your needs.

Screen Size and Resolution

Most TVs under ₹10,000 range from 24 to 32 inches, perfect for small spaces like dorm rooms or kitchens. A 32-inch screen is the sweet spot for most users, offering a good balance of size and portability.

Resolution is crucial for picture clarity. Look for HD Ready (1366x768 pixels) or Full HD (1920x1080 pixels). HD Ready is sufficient for cable TV and basic streaming, while Full HD provides sharper images for movies. Some models even offer QLED panels for enhanced colors, which is a big plus at this price.

Smart Features and Operating System

Not all budget TVs are smart, but many now include Android or Linux OS for app access. Smart TVs let you stream directly without a set-top box, saving money in the long run. Check for built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and voice control. For Indian users, support for apps like JioTV or regional content is a bonus.

If you're not tech-savvy, a non-smart TV with HDMI ports for connecting a Fire Stick or Chromecast works fine.

Sound Quality and Audio Output

Budget TVs typically have 10-20W speakers. While not theater-like, Dolby Audio support can improve clarity for dialogues in Indian shows. Consider adding a soundbar later if needed.

Connectivity and Ports

Ensure at least 2 HDMI and 2 USB ports for connecting gaming consoles, laptops, or pen drives. Ethernet for stable internet and headphone jacks are useful too.

Refresh Rate and Viewing Angles

A 60Hz refresh rate is standard, reducing blur in fast scenes like sports. Wide viewing angles (178 degrees) ensure everyone in the room sees clearly.

Build Quality, Energy Efficiency, and Warranty

Opt for brands with good after-sales service in India, like Haier and Lloyd. Check energy ratings (3-5 stars) to save on electricity bills. Most come with a 1-year warranty, but some offer extended coverage.

Other Features

Look for bezel-less designs for a modern look, parental controls, and eco-modes. Avoid models with too many ads in the interface.

By prioritizing these, you'll get a TV that lasts 5-7 years with proper care.
