Meta used its 2026 Connect keynote to roll out a whole new lineup of AI hardware - Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses, Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3, Meta VR Glasses, and a new pocket device called Meta Charm. The company also gave more details on Muse, its AI agent, which is now baked deeper into its wearables.
The news came out over two days, September 23-24, 2026, as Meta keeps pushing its bet that AI belongs on your face (or in your pocket) rather than just on your phone.
This is Meta's first pair of AI glasses without a camera. Instead, it's all about audio - calls, music, real-time translation, and talking to Meta AI hands-free.
They're light (about 43g), last up to 12 hours on a charge, and come in two styles: Clubmaster and Burbank. Price starts at $349, with shipping kicking off October 13.
Skipping the camera isn't just a design choice - it also sidesteps a lot of the privacy pushback that camera glasses tend to get.
Gen 3 is the follow-up to Meta's camera-equipped glasses, now slimmer, longer-lasting, and with a customizable action button.
Specs: up to 9 hours of battery, a 12MP camera, and 3K Ultra HD video. It starts at $449, and Meta's also expanding the lineup across Ray-Ban, Oakley, and its own Meta Glasses brand.
Muse is Meta's take on a proactive personal assistant - one you talk to instead of tap on. On supported glasses, you can just speak to it instead of pulling out your phone, and Meta says it's built to help with ongoing tasks and goals, not just one-off questions.
Meta's new VR headset is surprisingly light around 100 grams and aimed at entertainment: gaming, live sports, and spatial computing, with an IMAX Enhanced mode and a virtual multi-monitor setup for work.
It's launching in spring 2027, starting at $1,299.
Charm is a small, pocket-sized gadget that gives you access to Muse without needing glasses or a phone. Meta hasn't shared full details yet more is expected later this year.
Meta's clearly not treating AI as just an app anymore, it's spreading it across a whole hardware lineup: camera glasses, audio-only glasses, VR, and now a standalone AI gadget. The takeaway for shoppers is more choice: pick the device based on how you actually want to use AI, not just whether you want a camera on your face.
