Microsoft has introduced its latest Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models, both powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 processors. The new devices aim to deliver enhanced performance and battery life, targeting users who need both portability and productivity.
The Surface Pro 13-inch model is available in Platinum, Black, and Dune color options. Microsoft describes this device as combining the flexibility of a tablet with the full capabilities of Windows. The Surface Pro features a 13-inch touchscreen, with an optional OLED display that supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate.
Users can choose from 16GB to 64GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. The device supports Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and offers up to 15.5 hours of local video playback on a single charge. The Surface Pro is powered by a 12-core Snapdragon X2 chip. Pricing for the Surface Pro starts lower, but a fully configured model with maximum RAM and storage costs $3,549.
The new Surface Laptop comes in two sizes: 13.8 inches and 15 inches. The 13.8-inch version starts at $1,599, while the 15-inch model begins at $1,699. Both laptops feature color-accurate LCD screens and are available in Platinum, Black, and Dune. The 13.8-inch model also comes in a Jade colorway.
Battery life is rated at up to 20 hours for the 13.8-inch laptop and up to 19 hours for the 15-inch version. Both laptops use the same Snapdragon X2 processors as the Surface Pro and offer RAM options from 16GB to 64GB. Storage starts at 256GB for the 13.8-inch model and at 512GB for the 15-inch, with both supporting up to 1TB of storage.
The 13.8-inch Surface Laptop includes a 39W power supply, while the 15-inch model uses a 65W unit. Fully upgrading the 13.8-inch laptop with maximum RAM and storage brings the price to $3,449. The 15-inch model's listing does not yet show the 64GB RAM and 1TB storage configuration.
All new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models are available for purchase directly from Microsoft. The company aims to provide a range of configurations to meet different user needs, from basic productivity to high-end performance.
