Motorola Signature 27 Unveiled With Sony Lytia Cameras And AI Video

Motorola has introduced the Signature 27, its latest premium smartphone, at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit. The new device arrives alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Mobile Platform and places a strong emphasis on photography, video recording and artificial intelligence.

Motorola is touting the Signature 27 as a flagship device, touting its camera hardware, video processing capabilities and premium construction. Motorola has already revealed some important details about the phone’s imaging system and design, though many specifications are still under wraps.

Motorola Signature 27 brings Sony Lytia camera technology

At the core of the Signature 27’s camera system is Sony’s 50MP Lytia 910 LOFIC image sensor. The Type 1/1.28 sensor is designed to offer enhanced dynamic range, detailed images and true colour reproduction.

Motorola also said it will have a 200MP Sony Lytia 901 sensor for the telephoto camera. Sony previously announced the Type 1/1.12 sensor, which is intended to provide the phone with a high-res option for zoom photography.

The company hasn’t yet detailed all of the rear-camera specs. A telephoto lens is also listed, but an ultra-wide camera has not been confirmed; however, images of the phone show additional cameras besides the main and telephoto units.

AI video features target low-light recording

Motorola is also launching its Video Enhancement Engine, an AI-enabled system designed to process video in real time. The technology can automatically adjust colour tones as the footage is shot.

The company says the system is built for scenarios like concerts, night scenes and sunsets, focusing on sharp footage, natural colours and improved low-light results. Stabilisation combines Qualcomm’s imaging technology with optical image stabilisation hardware.

Much of the horsepower behind these imaging and AI capabilities is expected to come from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

Premium design and Bang and Olufsen audio

Outside of the cameras, Motorola is giving the Signature 27 a premium physical design as well. The smartphone is made of aluminium and has a unique camera housing, and two finishes have been shown: Coal Smoke in a tactical-weave texture and Capulet Olive in a brushed textile finish.

The device will also feature a Bang & Olufsen audio system, in line with Motorola’s newly announced multi-year partnership with the Danish audio company.

Motorola has not yet announced the Signature 27’s price in India and full specifications. We are expected to see the company present the smartphone in its entirety ahead of its global launch later in 2026.

Motorola Signature 27 keeps more specifications under wraps

Motorola has not revealed a lot of key details of the Motorola Signature 27 yet, including its full rear-camera setup, ultra-wide camera specs, battery capacity, display details and India pricing. The company has labelled the phone a premium flagship, indicating pricing will be in line with its high-end positioning and camera hardware. The device’s AI and imaging capabilities are expected to be handled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 platform, and the Bang & Olufsen audio partnership is another premium element. Motorola is expected to share the other specifications closer to the phone’s global launch later in 2026.
