Vivo has announced the launch of its new smartphone, the Vivo V80, in India on October 6. Vivo V80 Display and Design

The Vivo V80 sports a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. However, the full 144Hz refresh rate is available only in selected applications, and actual performance may vary depending on usage. The screen supports 1.07 billion colours and can reach up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness. The display is surrounded by slim 1.25mm bezels, offering an immersive viewing experience.

Camera Features and Imaging Tools

The Vivo V80 features a Zeiss-branded camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony LYTIA 700V sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS). The device also has a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor, OIS, and 3x optical zoom. The camera system supports up to 100x zoom. A Zeiss wide-angle camera is also included. On the front, the smartphone offers a 50-megapixel Group Selfie camera with a 92-degree field of view and autofocus.

The Vivo V80 supports 4K cinematic video recording and 4K video at 60 frames per second. The device introduces several AI-powered imaging tools, including more than 30 creative features, Live Sticker Collage, and AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, which aims to enhance festive portraits.

Battery, Charging, and Software

The smartphone is equipped with a 7,200mAh battery, the largest capacity in Vivo's V-series so far. Vivo claims the battery can deliver up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback. The device supports 90W FlashCharge, allowing it to reach 50 percent charge in 30 minutes using fast-charging mode.

The Vivo V80 will be the first V-series phone to ship with Android 17-based OriginOS 7. The company promises up to six years of security updates for the device.

Processor, Availability, and Colours

While Vivo has not officially confirmed the chipset, the V80 was recently listed on Geekbench with a Qualcomm QTI SM7750 chipset, which matches the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The same processor powers the Vivo V70. Benchmark results showed 1,070 points in single-core and 3,552 points in multi-core tests.

The Vivo V80 will launch in India on October 6 at 12 PM. It will be available in three colour options: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue, and Stellar Black. After launch, the device will be sold through the Vivo India website, Amazon, Flipkart, and offline retail stores. Pricing details have not yet been announced.
