Apple has officially announced the dates for its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026. The event will begin on June 8 with a keynote at 10 am PDT (10:30 pm IST) and will run through June 12. Apple will host the conference at Apple Park, inviting over 1,000 developers, designers, and students. Media representatives have also received invitations for an in-person keynote viewing.
The keynote on June 8 will be streamed live on Apple’s website, the Apple TV app, and Apple’s YouTube channel. Apple has stated that the keynote will introduce the latest updates across its platforms. After the keynote, the Platforms State of the Union will provide more details about new features and technologies for developers working on Apple platforms.
Throughout the five-day event, Apple will offer video guides and live Q&A sessions with Apple engineers through Group Labs, available online. The company will also host the Apple Design Awards, which recognize outstanding app design. This year, 36 finalists have been selected in categories such as “delight and fun,” “social impact,” and “visuals and graphics.” Apple will announce the winners in the coming weeks.
Additionally, Apple will provide a three-day experience at WWDC for 50 winners of its Swift Student Challenge. This initiative supports student developers and offers them direct engagement with Apple’s teams and technologies.
Apple is expected to unveil significant software updates during WWDC 2026. The main highlight will likely be the introduction of a revamped Siri, which is anticipated to feature Google Gemini integration. This new version of Siri is expected to bring several new capabilities and will likely be part of iOS 27, which Apple is also expected to showcase at the event.
In addition to iOS 27, Apple is expected to reveal updates to MacOS 27, iPadOS 27, and VisionOS 27. While major design changes are not anticipated, some interface tweaks may be introduced. The Platforms State of the Union session will provide developers with deeper insights into these updates and new tools available for building on Apple’s platforms.
Apple will make the keynote and other main sessions available for live viewing on its website and YouTube channel. Additional sessions, including technical deep dives, will be accessible through Apple’s developer website and YouTube channel.
WWDC 2026 will also mark a leadership transition at Apple. John Ternus is set to succeed the current CEO on September 1. Ternus, who has spent 25 years at Apple, is known for his insider status and low public profile. The event is expected to highlight this transition as Apple continues to focus on innovation and developer engagement.
