At its I/O conference, Google introduced Gemini 3.5, its latest family of artificial intelligence models, and Gemini Omni, a new model designed to create videos from any input. The first model in the Gemini 3.5 family, Gemini 3.5 Flash, is now available to all users through the Gemini app and in AI Mode on Google Search.
Gemini 3.5 Flash delivers intelligence that matches large flagship models in several areas, according to Google. It operates at the high speeds typical of the Flash series. Google states that this model is its strongest for agentic and coding tasks, surpassing Gemini 3.1 Pro in challenging coding and agentic benchmarks. It also leads in multimodal understanding, processing information from different types of media. Gemini 3.5 Flash is now the default model for users.
Gemini Omni is a new AI model that can generate videos from any combination of input types, including images, audio, video, and text. The model produces high-quality videos based on Gemini's real-world knowledge. Users can edit these videos through conversation, making changes to specific elements or the entire video without losing the context of the original scene.
The first model in the Gemini Omni family, Gemini Omni Flash, allows users to refine their video creations over multiple turns. It features an improved understanding of physical forces such as gravity, kinetic energy, and fluid dynamics, resulting in more realistic scenes. Users can incorporate their own voices and digital avatars, creating personalized video content. Every video generated includes SynthID digital watermarking for authenticity and traceability.
Gemini Omni Flash is available today for all subscribers to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans worldwide through the Gemini app and Google Flow. In addition, the model is rolling out for free to users on YouTube Shorts and YouTube Create, expanding access to advanced video creation tools.
