Microsoft has not released a new laptop in almost two years, and the company has not shared any official updates. However, recent leaks have revealed details about the upcoming Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 8. These leaks suggest significant hardware upgrades, including new Intel processors and increased memory options.
According to a report from Notebookcheck, the Microsoft Surface Pro 12 has appeared in Geekbench listings. The device is expected to maintain its thin and light 2-in-1 design. Internally, it will likely feature Intel Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 5 335 processors. Both processors have eight cores, with only minor differences in clock speed.
Another major upgrade could be the RAM, which may go up to 32GB. Multiple Geekbench entries indicate that Microsoft may offer several configurations, rather than limiting users to just one or two variants. This would provide more flexibility for buyers with different needs.
The Surface Laptop 8 is also expected to retain its familiar design. Reports suggest it will be available in both 13-inch and 15-inch models. The device could feature powerful options such as the Intel Core Ultra X7 368H processor paired with Intel Arc B390 graphics. A slightly less powerful Core Ultra 7 366H variant may also be available.
The Surface Laptop 8 is expected to use LPDDR5 RAM, with configurations going up to 32GB. A leaked Geekbench listing shows the Surface Laptop 8 achieving a single-core score of 2,833 and a multi-core score of 16,368. These scores indicate a noticeable performance improvement over previous models.
Microsoft has not officially confirmed or teased the Surface Pro 12 or Surface Laptop 8. However, German publication WinFuture reported that the devices could launch as soon as this month. Despite these reports, there is no official confirmation, so the information should be considered unverified at this time.
The leaked specifications and benchmark scores suggest that the upcoming Surface devices could offer significant improvements in performance and configuration options. More details are expected as Microsoft prepares for the official launch.
