Although it was a good phone, Oppo's previous attempt at a foldable phone wasn't very successful. With this second series, the Oppo Find N2, it has been so significantly improved that you could be excused for thinking it was many variants later. It effortlessly opens.

It weighs about 30 grams less than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and has a barely perceptible crease. Additionally, it weighs even less than the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, which weighs 240 grams. After using other foldable phones, the weight difference is evident right away.

OPPO Find N2 Price in India and Availability

The OPPO Find N2 is yet to be available for purchase in India. The expected price of the smartphone is expected to be around Rs 95000 for the base model. The phone is also expected to come in three colour options, Cloud White, Plain Black and Pine Green.

Design

The phone's size and in-hand feel are similar to the previous Find N, but there have been significant internal changes. White, Green, and Black are the available colour options for the phone. The Black variant has a vegan leather finish, while the White, Green, and Green variants have a glass back.

The Find N2, which weighs only 233 grams , is the thinnest foldable phone. Even though it doesn't seem like it, the weight is actually lower for a foldable phone and you'll feel it when you hold it in your hands. OPPO claims that the new Find N2 weighs 42 grams less than the Find N, which debuted last year, despite the fact that I never used it. This is due to a new hinge system.

Display

Let's now discuss a foldable phone's actual selling point, its display. A 7.1-inch foldable AMOLED display with a resolution of 1792 x 1920 and a 5.54-inch cover AMOLED display with a resolution of 2120 x 1080 are both featured on the OPPO Find N2. Both displays offer a 480Hz touch sampling rate and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The cover display has a peak brightness of 1,350 nits, which is more than bright enough. Even with direct sunlight shining on the screen, I had no problems using it. It is colourful and vivid. Compared to many modern phones, the cover display may seem small, but it is more than adequate for calls and texts.

You get deep blacks and good viewing angles with excellent quality. When browsing, you'll probably open the phone up for a better view on a bigger screen. If we compare it to the Find N, the cover display bezel has been reduced by roughly half.

Even though the inner display, at 7.1 inches, is not very large, there is still plenty of space for split-screen multitasking, watching videos/movies, or playing games. It has a 1,550 nit maximum peak brightness, which is extremely bright. On a sunny day, I was able to enjoy YouTube videos while sitting outside on the balcony.

Performance

The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, which is not the newest flagship model on the market but still has a lot of power, is what OPPO used in its most recent foldable. The SoC is combined with 512GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

I really didn't have any problems with my performance on a daily basis. From opening and closing apps to viewing content to taking pictures and playing games, everything was very seamless. The experience was very smooth overall because of the 120Hz display.

In terms of gaming specifically, I played a few graphically demanding games, such as Apex Legends Mobile and New State Mobile. On their highest graphic settings, both games played without a hitch. I didn't observe any significant frame drops or lags. In actuality, the loading time was the only time period dropped.

The phone did not appear to be overheating or experiencing thermal throttling. However, playing demanding games for an extended period of time does cause the back to become a little warm.

Camera

Well, when discussing foldable phones, the cameras are never the strongest component. They nevertheless did a respectable job in this regard. On the back of the OPPO Find N2, there are three cameras: a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP telephoto sensor. A 32MP selfie camera is located on the front of both the cover display and the internal display.

The Oppo dedicated imaging chip produces quite good quality images with fantastic dynamic range, making these lenses perfect for foldable phones. I'm glad to see that, unlike many other phones, the OPPO does not include any low-resolution camera lenses.

The 50MP primary camera takes excellent photos in natural light. The pictures I took were sharp and filled with information. The images appeared vibrant and had a good dynamic range. Even in dim lighting, the performance was strong.

There is also a special night mode that enhances the overall brightness and quality of the image. The colours had lost some of their vibrancy but were still acceptable.

The ultra-wide camera has a decent 48MP sensor, so switching to a more panoramic shot doesn’t sacrifice quality. The photos were detailed and punchy. Dynamic range was also pretty good. However, the photos were distorted around the edges, which I have noticed on many other phones.

The telephoto lens also does a nice job of taking portrait shots. It doesn’t disappoint at all. However, I wish OPPO had given OIS support here to help in taking more stable shots. In terms of selfies and video calls, the 32MP selfie cameras on the cover and inner display are also good and won’t let you down.

Battery

Oppo find n2 battery

Battery capacity for the OPPO Find N2 is 4520 mAh. At first, I was not really sure if it would deliver a good battery backup but thanks to the power-efficient chipset and the optimised OS, it offered a really good backup. The fact that it has 20 mAh more capacity than the Find N is also unimportant.

The battery easily lasted me a whole day. I played some games, browsed Instagram, took some pictures, and did some light browsing. I watched for about 6-7 hours straight. It has two displays, though, so how you use it will affect how long the battery lasts.

The fact that it supports 67W fast charging is a plus. The 67W charger can charge the phone completely from zero to one hundred percent in around 45 minutes. For a foldable phone, this is incredibly quick.

A 15-minute quick charge will recharge the battery by about 50%. You can use it to charge your earbuds while you're on the go because it also supports reverse wired charging. Its lack of wireless charging, though, is extremely disappointing for a flagship foldable phone that costs as much as it does.

Oppo Find N2 Verdict

It's wonderful to see the performance and design of folding phones continue to improve. People who find the Samsung Fold 4 to be too long and narrow favour the Find N2's smaller size. In addition to having a reliable camera system and battery backup, it is also excellent for one-handed use when folded. It also has great 120Hz displays and 67W fast charging.

I think this is one of the best foldable phones currently on the market. With no gaps, hardly any creases, and a reliable folding mechanism, it is incredibly well made.
