6.8
The OIS-stabilised 50MP main camera remains a genuine highlight, especially for its era.
Performance
6.5
The Snapdragon 695 chipset comfortably handles everyday tasks and light-to-moderate gaming.
Battery
8
A 5000mAh battery comfortably lasts through a full day of typical everyday usage.
Value
7.4
A dependable, if now somewhat dated, mid-ranger best considered only at a discount.
Expert Conclusion
The Galaxy A23 5G was a solid, dependable mid-ranger at launch, and its OIS-stabilised 50MP camera remains a genuine strength even years later, delivering noticeably steadier handheld shots than many rivals of its era. The Snapdragon 695 chipset comfortably handles everyday browsing, social media and light gaming, though it now feels dated against more recent A-series releases. The LCD display, while smooth at 90Hz, lacks the vibrancy of Samsung's newer AMOLED-equipped budget phones. Battery life remains a consistent strength, easily covering a full day. Given newer, better-specced alternatives like the A25 and A26 now exist, the A23 5G is best considered only if available at a significant discount.
