Meanwhile, the New Delhi store is expected to be smaller, spanning 10,000 to 12,000 square feet and located in the Select CityWalk mall. While both stores have finished fitouts, the Mumbai store will open first as it is considered the flagship outlet for India.

Apple has not yet announced the official opening date of either of its stores in India, but the company appears to be testing operations at each location.

The demand for Apple products in India has been growing in recent years, and Apple opened its online store in India in 2020 to provide a direct sales channel for Indian customers. Foxconn, the major Taiwanese contract manufacturer that produces 70% of iPhones, is reportedly investing over $200 million in building a new factory in Telangana, India, to manufacture a significant portion of Apple's AirPods.

This marks a shift from the company's dependence on China, and Foxconn has reportedly won an order from Apple for AirPods.
