So, when you see something you want to buy but don't know what it is, that's what we call it, this happened with you, right? So, leave your problems behind because Amazon has launched a new AI feature on their platform called Lens Live, a smart AI feature that searches for products you see in real time. What does it mean to conduct real-time searches? So, when you tap this feature and point your phone at that object or product, it will scan and find the product that matches it while also allowing you to add that product to your cart.

How It Works

So this feature, Lens Live, is based on an advanced artificial intelligence system. It scans the product with your mobile camera and then searches Amazon's large product database for closer visual matches.

So this model works in two separate steps:

    1. On your phone - This is based on smaller AI models that can quickly recognize the product you're pointing at.
    1. On Amazon's server - The server uses larger and more powerful AI models to match that product to the millions of similar products in Amazon's catalog.

When and Where.

So, while this new feature is already in use by millions of iOS users in the United States from today, Amazon says it will be rolled out to more users in the coming weeks.

So this app has some other options, such as uploading photos, scanning a barcode, and text search, but it is only available in the United States, and there are no updates on when this feature will be available elsewhere.

Why does it matter?

So, when the question of why this matters arises, it is very important in today's world, where everyone's attention span is shrinking. The hustle of the customer between "I like this" and "I bought this" will be shorter.

This feature put Amazon in direct competition with Google Lens and Pinterest Lens, but it also made shopping the primary focus of the product and company. And this simplifies the process of finding products. For example, if you see a watch in someone's hand and are quick to pick up your phone, you can easily find and purchase that watch.

Amazon's Vision

So Trishul Chilimbi, Amazon's Vice President for Ai in Stores, says that this new feature, "Lens Live," is the next generation of shopping, allowing people to buy and reduce their hustle while finding the right product, making it easier, faster, and more interactive.
