vivo has launched the T5e smartphone in India, expanding its T5 series. The new device targets budget-conscious buyers and features a large 5,500mAh battery. The vivo T5e is available in a single configuration with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, priced at INR 13,999 (about $145).
The vivo T5e sports a 6.74-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution. The display supports a 90Hz refresh rate, providing smoother visuals compared to standard 60Hz screens. The phone is powered by an octa-core UniSoc T7225 chipset. It uses LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage, with the option to expand storage via a microSD card slot.
For photography, the T5e features a single 13MP rear camera housed in a pill-shaped module. The front camera is 5MP and sits in a waterdrop notch at the top of the display. The device runs on Funtouch OS 16, vivo's custom Android-based operating system.
The 5,500mAh battery supports 15W wired charging through a USB Type-C port. This large battery aims to provide extended usage on a single charge. The phone also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security.
The vivo T5e holds an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It also meets MIL-STD-810H certification standards, indicating enhanced durability under various environmental conditions. The phone measures 8.19mm in thickness and weighs 199g, making it relatively slim and lightweight for its battery size.
Connectivity options include dual 4G SIM support, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. These features ensure compatibility with current wireless and wired standards for mobile devices.
The vivo T5e is available in two color options: Aero Blue and Shadow Grey. The device is designed to appeal to users seeking a balance between affordability, battery life, and essential smartphone features.
