With the Haier 65S9QT QLED TV, well-known consumer electronics company Haier has made a noteworthy debut into the TV industry. At Rs. 92,990 in India, this model provides a high-end viewing experience together with a chic style and vivid image quality. With features including 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10 compatibility, and Dolby Vision IQ, it's a competitive choice in the high-end market.
Design
The Haier 65S9QT QLED TV is distinguished by its design. With its small bezels and sleek metal frame, the TV exudes modern elegance. Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision badges, together with the Haier branding, are housed in the navy blue fabric finish that covers the large chin at the bottom. The plastic back panel has every connector needed to connect external devices.
Although the TV comes with a sophisticated table stand composed of smooth metal rods and a metal bridge, a wall-mounted stand is not included in the box. The TV weighs 19.7 kg, however the table stand is sturdy and has anti-skid grips to support it, therefore preventing unintentional falls.
Audio and Display
A 65-inch panel and a wealth of display characteristics one would expect from a high-end QLED TV are offered by the Haier 65S9QT. Vibrant colors and great contrast are delivered in a breathtaking visual experience with support for Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10, HLG, and 4K HDR. The 400 nits of brightness, 7,000:1 contrast ratio, and 120Hz refresh rate with MEMC of the TV guarantee immersive and seamless watching.
Punchier colors are produced in darker settings by the Dolby Vision IQ function, which senses the light of the room and modifies the display quality appropriately. The picture quality in primarily darker scenes, such in "Sherlock" and "Dark Matter," might not be as pleasant as in brighter settings, though. Though the TV's Dolby Vision and HDR features try to compensate for this shortcoming, the images don't always seem as lifelike as those on an OLED TV.
The Haier 65S9QT provides smooth animation and higher video frame rate for gamers with its 120Hz refresh rate. The TV's local dimming technology allows for a pleasurable gaming experience with seamless transitions from bright to dark areas, however 4K gaming at 120Hz isn't enabled.
Dolby Atmos certified dual speakers with 30W of power provide the sound. The speakers, positioned behind the display, deliver crisp, clear sound. But in larger rooms, especially, the sound could seem lackluster for a 65-inch panel. Though there is nothing wrong with sports content, speech clarity in TV series and movies may be improved. A really immersive audio experience calls for investing in a top-notch soundbar or external speaker system.
Remote Control and Connectivity
A quality metal frame remote control for the Haier 65S9QT QLED TV is Bluetooth compatible. More buttons and a good range are features of the remote than those of some recently introduced TVs from other manufacturers. For simple navigation, it has a circular dial and hotkeys for well-known over-the-top services like Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime. There are also keys specifically for Google Assistant, source selection, home, media controls, audio settings, and general settings.
It could take some getting accustomed to that the volume rocker and mute button are located on the right spine of the remote. Although the silver covering of the remote enhances its upscale appearance, it is readily soiled. A joystick on the back of the TV, on the right edge, can also be used to operate it.
With regard to connectivity, the Haier 65S9QT has Bluetooth and dual-band Wi-Fi. To ensure complete connectivity options for a range of devices, it also has 2x USB 2.0 ports, LAN, headphone jack, video/audio input, antenna/cable, and optical output for speakers in addition to 4x HDMI ports supporting up to 4K resolution and 120Hz frame rate.
Software and Performance
The Haier 65S9QT, which runs on Google TV, has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, so performance is smooth. The TV has smooth animation when navigating the user interface and starting programs; there are no unsettling freezing or crash problems. User preferences-based curated material from different OTT platforms is shown on the home screen of the Google TV interface; downloading more apps requires a Google account.
Although shared use of this integration can be difficult, it makes watching easy. When a TV is in a common space, for instance, several people could unintentionally influence the content suggestions. Password security for profiles would have been a helpful addition even though different profiles can be made. Along with requiring a password to change from a kids profile to an adult user, Google TV does provide a settings lock option and a way to disable content recommendations.
Users of Android devices can wirelessly project pictures, videos, music, and more to the large screen using the integrated Chromecast capability. The AI Google Assistant also offers volume adjustment and show searching with hands-free control. Every now and again the TV would lose connection to Wi-Fi when streaming, however firmware upgrades usually fix this problem.
Comparos Says
A attractive option in the high-end 65-inch QLED TV market, the Haier 65S9QT QLED TV, for Rs 92,990, delivers a stylish design and an amazing viewing experience. Though there are more reasonably priced choices, such as the OnePlus Q2 Pro, which has a 120Hz refresh rate panel, 70W speakers, Dolby Vision support, and a Google TV interface, the Haier 65S9QT is notable for its sophisticated design and vivid images.
For those looking for a premium watching experience, the Haier 65S9QT QLED TV's overall performance and feature set make it an appealing choice despite its higher price and certain restrictions in audio performance and dark scene quality.
