With all of its entry-level and mid-range smartphones, iQOO has been doing exceptionally well in the Indian market. And now the business has made the decision to release its most recent iQOO Neo 7, which offers a lot for the price.
It has a relatively simple exterior, yet it is stuffed with power inside. It actually boasts the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset for the first time in an Indian phone. Moreover, a sizable 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging capabilities is included.
iQOO Neo 7 price in India starts from Rs 29999 for the base variant with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
The phone is available in two colours: Interstellar Black and Frost Blue
The iQOO Neo 7 has a simple and uncomplicated design, which may not necessarily be a bad thing. The concern is that it lacks distinctive features, but some people prefer a more understated appearance. Therefore, if you're seeking a phone with a discreet look, the iQOO Neo 7 could impress you.
Priced at 30K, it seems inappropriate to offer a plastic body while competitors are introducing phones with metal frames and glass backs. However, despite this, the phone does not give a cheap impression when held. It has a solid and pleasant feel to it.
The iQOO Neo 7 boasts a superb FHD+ AMOLED display that measures 6.78 inches. It has an impressive refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. After using the phone for a period of time, it's evident that the display is ideal for both content viewing and gaming. As anticipated from an AMOLED panel, the colours were vibrant and the blacks were intense.
The 120Hz refresh rate provided a seamless scrolling experience and made gaming more enjoyable. Moreover, the bezel surrounding the display has decreased from the previous year. While viewing a few YouTube videos, the content was notably crisp.
The iQOO Neo 7 surpasses other phones in its price range in terms of performance. It is the first phone in India to include the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset. This potent chipset is combined with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Using everyday apps on the phone was effortless, and I did not encounter any glitches or delays. Switching between apps was seamless and the screen animations were fluid. The Dimensity 8200 system-on-chip is quite robust and can handle high-end games with ease.
I played both Call of Duty and New State on the iQOO Neo 7, and both games ran at 90fps. It's impressive that the iQOO Neo 7 can deliver such exceptional performance under 30K, and no other phone at this price range comes close to it. Furthermore, the games ran smoothly without any hiccups, and my gaming experience was exceptional.
The iQOO Neo 7 operates on Funtouch OS 13, which is built on top of Android 13. iQOO has committed to providing two years of significant operating system updates and three years of security updates. The phone includes support for the Material You theme, among other features.
However, there are several pre-installed apps on the phone that could be considered bloatware. Nonetheless, you have the option to uninstall them via the settings.
The iQOO Neo 7 is equipped with a triple camera system on the back, consisting of a 64MP OIS primary camera, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro lens. The front-facing camera is a 16MP selfie camera, although it does not come with an ultra-wide lens.
In bright daylight conditions, the primary camera of the iQOO Neo 7 takes excellent outdoor shots. The details and colours were impressive, and portrait shots looked great. The edge detection was accurate, and the bokeh effect was pleasing. However, the image quality deteriorates as the light diminishes.
The 2MP macro lens produces subpar low-resolution images that lack detail and appear washed out. An ultra-wide lens would have been a better choice.
As for the front camera, the 16MP lens captures good selfies in outdoor lighting, providing ample details and sharpness. Portrait selfies also come out nicely. Nevertheless, the camera struggles in low-light settings, as low-light selfies become noisy and lose a significant level of detail.
The iQOO Neo 7 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that provides a decent battery life. If you use your phone sparingly, you can go without charging it for two days. However, if you use it heavily, especially for gaming, you may need to recharge it by the end of the day.
During my usage, I was able to get over 6 hours of screen-on time which is commendable. Nonetheless, the charging speed is even more impressive. With 120W fast charging support, the iQOO Neo 7 can be fully charged in just 25 minutes, making it incredibly fast. Even a 10-minute quick charge can charge the battery to 45%.
iQOO Neo 7 is an all-rounder under 30K, ticking all the boxes of an expensive phone with exceptional features. It offers a top-notch gaming experience, stunning AMOLED display for streaming, 5000mAh battery, and 120W fast charging. The 64 MP primary camera delivers fantastic shots in daylight, and it's one of the first phones to launch with Android 13. At 30K, it's definitely worth it for power-hungry users seeking an excellent mid-range phone
