The Moto G96 5G smartphone was finally launched in India on Wednesday. Motorola’s latest 5G smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s 4nm octa-core Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC and paired with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage. It gets a dual-rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 32-megapixel front camera with 4K video recording support. The Motorola smartphone also receives an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The handset display has water touch technology and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Like any other Motorola smartphone in India, the Moto G96 also boasts a premium vegan leather finish and is available in four different color options.
Moto G96 smartphone price in India starts from Rs 17,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, whereas its 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs 19,999. It is available in Ashleigh Blue, Dresden Blue, Cattleya Orchid, and Greener Pastures color options. The smartphone is officially launched in India, but its sales will commence from July 16 via Flipkart and the Motorola India website.
The G96 5G smartphone features a 6.67-inch FHD+ 10-bit 3D curved pOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, 1600 nits peak brightness, water touch support, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Additionally, the handset is powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 21 SoC and comes mated with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. It runs on Android 15-based Hello UI skin. Motorola has promised to offer three years of security updates.
Similar to other G series smartphones from Motorola, the Moto G96 5G has a dual rear camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 700C primary sensor with OIS and f/1.8 aperture, along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor with autofocus and macro vision support and f/2.2 aperture. In the front, there is a 32-megapixel sensor with fixed focus and f/2.2 aperture for video calls and selfies. Moto G96 also features AI imaging features like AI Photo Enhancement.
The handset boasts a 5,500mAh battery pack with 33W wired TurboPower charging support. For connectivity options, the phone has dual nano SIM, 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone also features face unlock and an in-display fingerprint sensor for user authentication. Motorola has equipped its latest smartphone in India with dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. It weighs only 178.10 grams and measures 161.86x73.26x7.93 mm in size.
