With watchOS 10, Apple's Series 9 and Ultra 2 smartwatches—which launched with the iPhone 15 series—offer notable advancements over previous versions. Interestingly, they included a double-tap function to the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 that lets users accept calls, reply to messages, and do other functions by just tapping their index and thumb together twice.
Apple has enhanced the features of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 with the release of watchOS10.1. With just a double press of the thumb and index finger, users may now use the double tap functionality, which enables one- handed operation of a variety of features and actions.
Owners can use Smart Stack through this function, which enables them to answer or end phone calls, start or stop timers, snooze alarms, play music, podcasts, and audiobooks, and switch to the Elevation view in the Compass programme without touching the display.
Users can browse messages, scroll through lengthy notifications, send messages, and respond using voice commands by double tapping. Additionally, it may be utilized with the iPhone Camera App's Camera Remote feature.
The Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 have a double tap feature that works whenever the display is up. It lets users customize the gesture for individual users, follow through on notifications, and start or stop automated workout reminders.
The double tap feature is limited to Apple Watch Series 4 and subsequent models; WatchOS 10.1 is available for these watches exclusively. The update can be activated by default on Series 9 and Ultra 2 devices, and it requires an iPhone XS or later running iOS 17.
The Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 are available in India in Midnight, Pink, Red, Starlight, and Silver colors, with S9 SiP chipset power and Alpine Loop, Trail Loop, and Ocean band options.
