According to DuckDuckGo (DDG), it uses the AI technology already in place from Open AI, the company that created ChatGPT, and Anthropic, an AI startup founded by former Open AI workers.

Due to the platform's data editing feature distorting the results, both of these companies have contributed their chatbots to power the natural language from DDG. However, it also gives results via Wikipedia, which some of you may be happy about.

DuckDuckGo is also incorporating artificial intelligence into its services, allowing users to access the new AI assistant through the app and browser add-ons across all supported platforms. You can use the beta version without creating an account and is free for everyone to use.

Currently, DuckAssist is only available in English, but in the next weeks, all search users will be able to test it out. To improve response times and result accuracy, DDG aims to employ more sources. Yet, it is essential that the business also focuses on the relevance of the offered content and ensures that its language does not present false information.

Due to its $10 billion investment in Open AI for ChatGPT, Microsoft has a distinct advantage in the field of AI chatbots. The company's first chatbot-enabled products, Bing Search and Edge browser, have given Bing another chance to establish itself as a competitive player in its market. As a result of ChatGPT's incorporation into Bing, Microsoft's AI-powered Bing search engine has achieved 100 million active daily users in less than a month than ever before. There are more than 1 billion daily active users of its competitor Google Search.
