According to sources close to Apple, the company is currently testing touchscreen MacBooks that could be available in 2025, according to a recent report from Bloomberg News.
The development of the touchscreen MacBook is currently in its infancy, and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman anticipates that the rumoured OLED MacBook will be among the first Macs to ship with touch screen capabilities. The laptop will feature the same fundamental MacBook design with touchscreen functionality added.

Apple has previously experimented internally with touchscreen laptop prototypes. Those prototypes were dubbed a "compromise," according to an interview with Craig Federighi from 2016, because the touchscreen did not make sense in a laptop form factor that already had a precise multi-touch trackpad and keyboard inputs.
