Android Switch Tool Availability

The enhanced Android Switch tool is currently available only on newly launched devices with Android 17. However, users of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series will not receive this upgraded iOS migration tool. Google stated that support for additional Android devices will roll out in the coming months.

Expanded Data Transfer Capabilities

The upgraded Android Switch tool can now transfer a wider range of data from an iPhone to an Android device. Supported data includes Google Account information, passwords, passkeys, app data, Wi-Fi credentials, alarms, device settings, and home screen layouts. Users can also migrate iMessage history, Voice Memos, eSIMs, WhatsApp chat history, and more.

Future Support and Rollout

Google confirmed that more Android devices will gain access to the upgraded migration tool in the near future. The company has not provided a specific timeline for when this broader support will become available.
