Google has started rolling out the monthly software updates for eligible Pixel smartphones on Tuesday. The latest Android 16 build for Google Pixel smartphones comes with fixes for several system issues found in previous generations. The company has also confirmed that it includes an update patch for bugs that cause issues with the three-button and gesture navigation. With this update, Google Pixel smartphone users can expect some improvements in system stability and performance.

Google Pixel Software Update

Google unveiled details of the August 2025 monthly software update through its support page. This is being rolled out as an over-the-air update with the build number BP2A.250805.005 for global Pixel phones. Google also stated that the eligible Pixel smartphones will automatically receive notification when the update is available for the model.

Google’s August 2025 Update Fixes Multiple Security Flaws

The American technology giant says the Android 16-based monthly software update includes fixes for security issues, which resulted in the scheduled dark theme feature failing to work under certain conditions. It also fixes a bug that caused issues with both three-bottom and gesture navigation options on Pixel.

Additionally, the update aims to bring general improvements for system stability and performance in certain conditions. However, Google confirms that some fixes might be career or region-specific, hence not available in all markets.

Along with bug fixes, it includes the August 2025 Security Patch. While the generic security patch for Android devices brings solutions for six vulnerabilities, the Pixel devices have only a single fix, the details of which were published in the latest Pixel update Bulletin.

The Pixel-specific vulnerability has been given the identifier CVE-2025-62784 and found in the modem subcomponent. It is said to be a remote code execution vulnerability, which is rated high in severity. By installing the latest Android update for August 2025, Google Pixel smartphone users can automatically fix this issue.
