This updated repair process is expected to apply to the high-end Pro models that were released in September. In an internal memo, Apple announced that both Apple Stores and Authorised Service Providers will be able to repair these components without having to replace the entire phone, reducing electronic waste from repairs. This information was reported by 9to5Mac.

The source states that same-unit repairs are currently available for all iPhone models from the XS onwards, except for the iPhone 14 series. It is not clear whether the changes made to repair the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be implemented for other models and if they will become the new standard repair method.
Additionally, owners of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will need to wait before same-unit repairs are offered for their devices.
Rumours circulated last year that Apple would expand their Face ID repair program to include the iPhone X, allowing for repairs without replacing the entire device. This program was initially launched for the iPhone XS, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13.
