The Chinese smartphone giant OPPO reportedly is going to launch the first foldable smartphone from its banner in the month of November 2022. This will be the first time OPPO will be entering into this segment,
The upcoming flagship phone from OPPO is supposedly expected to feature an inward folding design which will be inspired from Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 mixed with Huawei Mate X2 as per the reports from GizmoChina. This latest release will offer a 120W refresh rate with an 8-inch LTPO OLED panel and will be powered with the SnapDragon 888 mobile platform.
Reports also suggest that this device is expected to come with preinstalled ColorOS 12. Although it is unclear whether it will feature the latest Android 12 or last year’s Android 11.
Meanwhile, earlier OPPO patented a new technology that will be a standard in its future wearable devices and the patent number for the said technology is CN110298944B. This new feature is described as "Venous Unlocking Method and Vein Unlocking Device".
This can be interpreted as a biometric system that is kind of similar to facial recognition or fingerprint scanning but one that maps the veins on the users' hands. This does sound interesting though, right? Interestingly, this technology somehow bears a close resemblance to Hand ID system from LG which used to map the thickness and the characteristics of a user’s vein for unlocking.
