Samsung will reportedly launch the new generation Galaxy S23 series in February 2023. According to South Korean daily Korea JoongAng Daily, the smartphone series will be unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked 2023 event in the US, but the exact launch date is unknown at this time.

Previous reports said the Galaxy S23 series would be unveiled at CES 2023 in Las Vegas on January 5th. A South Korean daily newspaper claims that the new Samsung smartphones (probably - Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra) will be more expensive than the S22 or S21 due to "inflationary pressure".

Samsung has yet to confirm a new smartphone launch, but rumours are consistent with the company's launch schedule. In recent years, Samsung announced a new Galaxy S phone at the start of the year. Throughout the year, the company introduced new tablets, then laptops, and finally foldable phones. In early 2022, Samsung announced its February Galaxy S22.

Samsung Galaxy S23 price in India

The Galaxy S22 has launched with a starting price of Rs 72,999 for 8GB RAM and 128GB models. If the price increase speculation is correct, the Galaxy S23 could cost over Rs 73,000 in India.

Official specs are also unknown, but the new series could feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, Qualcomm's most powerful chipset for mobile devices. The new chipset could unlock features like a 200 million pixel camera, Wi-Fi 7 and support for his new 5G modem. Other than that the S23 series is expected to remain largely similar to the S22 series.

The report points out that the debut of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series comes "at a difficult time." Demand for smartphones was weak due to macroeconomic conditions. Global smartphone sales in the third quarter of 2022 fell 11% year-on-year, according to analysts at Hana Securities. Samsung Electronics phone sales fell 11% last month, while Apple's sales rose 10% as the iPhone 14 proved popular.
