How Reserved Works

Spotify does not disclose the exact criteria for selecting eligible fans. The company states that eligibility is based on several signals, including streams, saves, shares, and user location. The location factor ensures that tickets are offered to fans who are likely to attend the event.

If you qualify for a Reserved offer, you will see it on your Spotify home screen. Spotify also sends a notification and an email to inform you. To increase your chances of receiving offers, enable notifications for live concerts and events, keep your app updated, and set your location in the Live Events feed.

The Reserved offer is also accessible through Search, the artist's page, your Live Events feed, and the Now Playing view. This makes it unlikely that eligible fans will miss the opportunity once it becomes available.

Ticket Purchase Process

When your Reserved window opens, you can tap Buy now to select up to two tickets for a Reserved-eligible date on the artist's tour. The purchase window typically lasts about one day, and you may buy the tickets at any time during this period. However, purchasing early increases the chance of getting your preferred date, location, and seats.

After selecting your tickets, you will be redirected to Ticketmaster to complete the checkout process. You may need to connect your Spotify account to Ticketmaster for this step. For some high-demand shows, you might enter a queue before reaching the ticket selection page. Two tickets will be held for you during your window, but seat availability may vary if you are at the end of the queue.

Additional Details and Eligibility

Reserved allows you to buy tickets for any eligible date on the tour, not just the show nearest to your location. The allocation includes a range of seating options and prices, with availability differing by show. If Reserved tickets are not claimed, they will be offered to the next most dedicated eligible fans.
