Primephonic, which Apple purchased in 2021 with the intention of releasing a classical music-focused app in 2022, gave birth to Apple Music Classical. Apple Music Classical promises to be better at handling the complicated metadata that is frequently associated with classical recordings. Additionally, the app will have features like curated playlists and composer biographies to help users become more familiar with the genre.
You can listen to music in up to 192 kHz/24 bit hi-res lossless, according to Apple, and the app's database contains more than 5 million tracks. A few restrictions apply to the app, though. Classical cannot be used by Apple Music Voice Plan customers. Moreover, there won't be a native iPad version available at launch, and downloading songs to listen to offline won't be an option.
I'm sorry that there aren't any offline downloads available, but I'm still eager to explore the app. Apple Music Classical seems like it might be a good way to learn more about a genre I feel like I should be more familiar with, even though I have to be online to use it. However, if I'm not online, it might not be the best option.
