Instagram will soon allow users to rearrange posts on their profile grid in any order, breaking from the traditional chronological layout. Meta announced the "Reorder Your Grid" feature, which gives users full control over the appearance of their profiles. This feature enables users to highlight specific posts, regardless of their original posting date.
The new feature allows users to customise their profile layout to better showcase important content or create a portfolio. This change is expected to benefit creators, influencers, businesses, and brands that rely on their Instagram profiles to make a strong impression.
To use the feature, users need to open their Instagram profile, press and hold any post in the grid, and select the "Reorder Grid" option from the pop-up menu. Users can then drag and drop posts into their preferred order. Once changes are saved, the new arrangement appears instantly to anyone visiting the profile.
The feature only affects the visual order of posts on the profile page. Original posting dates, captions, comments, likes, and engagement history remain unchanged. This ensures that users can reorganise their profiles without impacting other aspects of their posts.
Meta recently introduced a paid subscription plan for Instagram users in India, priced at Rs 299 per month. The subscription, called Instagram Plus, offers several extra customisation tools. These include the ability to pin up to six posts on a profile, access to custom app icons, bio fonts, and enhanced insights into Story performance.
While the Reorder Grid feature is available to all users, the paid subscription highlights Meta's focus on providing more control and flexibility for creators and regular users. The new tools aim to help users present themselves more effectively on the platform without needing to repost content.
With these updates, Instagram continues to expand its features, giving users more options for personalising their online presence. The changes reflect Meta's ongoing efforts to support creators and businesses in managing their digital portfolios.
