Nothing has announced the launch of its new smartphone, the Phone 4b, in India. The company confirmed that the Phone 4b will debut on July 7, with a dedicated Flipkart microsite already live. This device marks the start of the new B series, expanding Nothing’s smartphone portfolio.
The Phone 4b follows the earlier release of the Phone 4a series. Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis explained that rising memory costs influenced the company’s 2024 lineup. The B series aims to offer a clear naming structure, replacing the previous 'Lite' models. Evangelidis stated on X that the B series avoids overusing suffixes and clarifies the portfolio as it grows.
Previously, Nothing launched the Phone 3a Lite in 2025, which sat below the standard Phone 3a. The new B series is expected to fill this entry-level segment. The Phone 4b is likely to be positioned below the Phone 4a in terms of pricing and features.
Nothing is recognized for its unique smartphone designs. Early sketches of the Phone 4b suggest it will continue the brand’s transparent aesthetic. The design features a pill-shaped camera module and a rectangular element resembling the Glyph Bar from the Phone 4a. While the final design remains unrevealed, online users have speculated on its appearance based on these sketches.
There is limited information about the display. However, it is expected that the Phone 4b will use an AMOLED panel, similar to the Phone 3a Lite and CMF Phone 2 Pro.
The Phone 4b reportedly appeared on Geekbench with the model number A009P. According to the listing, the device uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, built on a 4nm process. The Phone 4b scored 1,088 in single-core and 3,155 in multi-core tests on Geekbench. For comparison, the Phone 4a, which uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, scores around 986 single-core and 2,883 multi-core.
The listing also indicates the Phone 4b will feature 8GB of RAM and run on Android 16. Battery capacity is expected to match other Nothing models. The Phone 4a, for example, has a 5,400mAh battery. Like previous Nothing phones, the Phone 4b may not include a charger in the box.
Initial teasers suggested a single rear camera, but recent sketches point to a dual rear camera setup. The main camera may be paired with an ultrawide sensor. Details about the front camera remain unknown at this time.
The Nothing Phone 4b will launch in India on July 7 at 3:30 pm. Pricing has not been officially announced, but leaks suggest the Phone 4b could be up to Rs 5,000 less than the Phone 4a. The Phone 4a currently starts at Rs 37,999, so the Phone 4b may be priced around Rs 32,999 if reports are accurate.
