Realme GT 6T Hands-On: Specs & Gaming Performance Preview

Realme India's GT series has transitioned from mid-range to gaming with the GT Neo series. The GT Neo 3 150W, while renowned for its gaming capabilities, lacks features such as a decent camera, water resistance, and wireless charging. Realme India discontinued subsequent GT introductions following the GT Neo 3, leaving enthusiasts to question the series' future.

Realme brings back the GT series in India with the Realme GT 6T, which costs Rs. 30,999. The base model features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the top-end variant has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for Rs. 39,999. The phone introduces a new chapter in the lineup.
This phone is reasonably priced, features a sleek plastic frame and back panel that may have been built using lower-quality components. Despite this, it claims to be IP65 certified, which is a first for a GT series phone in India, as earlier versions lacked formal water and dust resistant certification.
The GT 6T phone is IP65 rated, which means it can survive dust intrusion and low-pressure water sprays. However, the flex in the back panel raises worries about longevity, particularly given the lack of a metal frame. Further testing is required to establish whether the lower pricing results in a less premium user experience.
It is a one-of-a-kind smartphone with a futuristic design that includes a dual-tone back panel in reflecting mirror finish and sleek metallic gray. The front has a curved edge, 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 2,500Hz accelerated touch sampling rate, which ensures long battery life and flawless touch response.
The GT 6T smartphone has Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, a thin design, and the biggest vapor chamber cooling system on a smartphone. Its 5,500mAh battery and 120W charging capabilities provide continuous power and quick recharge throughout the day.
It is the first mid-range smartphone to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC, which uses architecture from the high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 series. However, the camera component is fascinating, since it has a Sony IMX615 sensor with 50-megapixel resolution and OIS. In our assessment of the Realme 12+ smartphone, the sensor fell short of expectations, raising concerns about its performance when combined with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC and Realme's software optimisation.
It has a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 360Hz touch sampling rate and a huge 5,500mAh battery with 120W rapid charging for long-lasting connection. It features a Sony IMX615 sensor with 50-megapixel resolution and OIS, which promises low-light performance. The phone runs Realme UI 5.0 on Android 14, which provides a new software experience.
The Realme GT 6T achieves a mix between design-focused and gaming devices, with strong hardware, a capable camera, and a huge battery, resulting in a well-rounded package at a fair price.
The Realme GT 6T is a mid-range phone in India accentuating the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. Its design incorporates contemporary curves and a binary- tone reverse panel, and the 6.78- inch LTPO AMOLED display provides fluid images and extraordinary power effectiveness. The phone boasts a large 5,500 mAh battery that supports 120W rapid-fire charging. The camera section has a Sony IMX615 detector with 50- megapixel resolution and OIS for low- light photography. Running Realme UI5.0 on Android 14, the GT 6T brings a new software experience. It's neither an underpowered design model or a hyperactive-focused gaming device, but rather a well- rounded product at a fair price point.
