New hearing aid regulation in the US

The US just began allowing consumers to buy hearing aids without a prescription. This new regulation is anticipated to allow Apple to also promote the future AirPods as a hearing aid. A large number of customers may benefit if Apple starts selling AirPods as hearing aids, according to the report.

The AirPods' health-related characteristics

In addition to Live Listen, Apple's AirPods Pro earphones also have another feature that benefits people with hearing impairments. The device's microphone is used by the Conversation Boost function to help amplify conversations. This AirPods Pro function can magnify conversations which are taking place in front of the user. Although it may not be as useful as Live Listen, this function nonetheless makes it simpler for the user to follow a conversation.

Another patent for a system that enabled Apple to monitor customers' heart rates, body temperatures, and other health-related biometric data was approved in 2016. Earbuds and earphones are a good way to acquire this data. The biometric sensor in this instance is positioned inside one of the earbuds.

A few years before to the initial AirPods' introduction, Apple also secured patents for sensors that would allow it to monitor users' heart rates and sweat production levels.

The numerous health-related features that Apple Watch offers have also already saved lives. Apple might package the Apple Watch and AirPods into "one health-related gadget" and promote the two wearables as such.
