Apple to Assemble iPhone 16 Pro Models in India for the First Time

Apple plans to manufacture the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, along with new iPads, in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, as part of its strategy to diversify away from China. Foxconn will handle production, with India-made iPhones potentially available within fiscal 2024. This marks Apple's first high-end Pro models assembly in India. The iPhone 16 series, launching on September 10th, features improved thermals, an A18 chip, enhanced cameras, and Apple Intelligence-powered Siri. However, the 5G modem in the iPhone 16 may be inferior to that of the iPhone 17 and 2025's iPhone SE.
