Apple MacBook Pro

Although Apple is known for releasing most of its products at two to three of its annual events (including the Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC), this time there won't be a specific "event" for the introduction. In fact, a press release alone could be used to launch a product. According to rumours, Apple may also introduce a new Mac mini and MacBook Pro during this launch.

The information was provided by reputable FrontPageTech Apple tipster Jon Prosser, who said in a cryptic tweet yesterday: "Keep an eye on Apple's newsroom tomorrow." For those who don't know, Apple Newsroom is where the business posts all of its announcements, including those on new products.

The same information was confirmed by MacRumors, who said in a report that "The announcement could be one of several products expected in near future, including updated MacBook Pros and Mac Mini models."

The majority of rumours point to the introduction of new M2 Pro and M2 Max chipset-equipped 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. During the WWDC 2022 event in June of last year, these two new Apple chipsets were unveiled. The 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, which were revealed on the same occasion, both have this chipset from Apple.

According to reports, the 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro models won't receive any additional significant upgrades; instead, they will simply be brought up to date with the rest of the Apple MacBook portfolio. Similarly to this, there are rumours that Apple will introduce the Mac mini and give it the M2 chipset to boost its performance and capabilities. If any further products can be released today is unknown.

According to earlier reports, Apple had planned to release both of these devices in 2022, but the chip shortage forced the company to push that date back. It should be understood, though, that the "launch" is really a rumour. According to other sources, if not today, the Apple launch might occur on January 18 or later this week.
