Apple is reportedly preparing to expand its MacBook Pro lineup with more powerful models powered by the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, and a possible launch timeline has now surfaced. According to a new report, Apple could unveil these high-end MacBook Pro variants as early as January 28, potentially alongside the rollout of its newly announced Creator Suite subscription.
While Apple has not officially confirmed the launch, the timing has sparked interest as it may mark the long-awaited refresh of the more powerful MacBook Pro models.
As per a report by Macworld, the January 28 date aligns with Apple’s recent announcement of the Creator Suite, which bundles professional tools like Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro. Since the MacBook Pro targets the same creative and professional users, Apple could introduce new hardware and pro-focused software together.
Additionally, January 28 falls on a Wednesday, a day Apple has historically used for product announcements, strengthening the speculation.
Apple kicked off its M5 MacBook Pro lineup in October 2025 with a single 14-inch model focused on AI and graphics improvements. However, the company did not update the 16-inch MacBook Pro or introduce M5 Pro and M5 Max variants at that time.

The upgrade is expected to focus on performance gains rather than a major design overhaul, as a bigger redesign is tipped to arrive with the M6 Pro and M6 Max models.
In India, the existing 14-inch MacBook Pro (2025) with the M5 chip starts at Rs. 1,69,900 and ships with macOS Tahoe.

For now, the January 28 launch timeline remains speculative, based on Apple’s software plans and past launch patterns. More clarity is expected closer to the date if Apple plans a combined hardware and software announcement.
