Apple Reissues Spyware Attack Warning to iPhone Users in 98 Countries

Apple has reissued a warning to iPhone users about potential "mercenary spyware attacks" in 98 countries, including India. These alerts, received by several users, suggest that attackers might target individuals based on their identity or activities. Apple advised enabling Lockdown Mode, which disables certain features to reduce spyware risks. The company has sent similar alerts to users in over 150 countries since 2021. Previously, Apple warned some journalists and opposition leaders about state-sponsored attacks. These sophisticated and costly spyware attacks, like those using Pegasus from the NSO Group, target a small number of individuals.
