Apple has re-issued warnings to iPhone users in 98 countries, including India, about potential mercenary spyware attacks. The company has alerted users that they might be targeted due to their identity or activities. This follows similar warnings in April 2024, advising users to enable Lockdown Mode, which limits certain features to reduce spyware risks. Apple's alerts did not specify attackers or targeted countries but highlighted the sophisticated nature of these attacks, such as those using Pegasus spyware from the NSO Group. The tech giant emphasized the seriousness of these threats and advised caution.
