Check out Gemini in the Chrome Browser

So, in this AI upgrading race of the advanced world, Google has already taken the next step by introducing Google Gemini for Chrome, macOS, and Windows users in the United States who have set their browser language to English. Although this was originally intended to be available only to premium users, it is now free for all.

What's New: Smarter Browse

So, the all-new Google Gemini for Chrome includes a slew of features aimed at making the browser more intelligent and helpful, so let's take a quick look at what is new:

  • Summarization and multi-tab understanding: The AI can now summarize content from two different tabs in the same browser, allowing you to complete tasks more quickly.

  • Recall of Past Webpages: Instead of digging through the history to find a tab on which you were working, you can ask Gemini, "Tell me which tab I was working on for xyz product last week."

  • Integration with Google Apps: So now Gemini is in a position to work more closely with the Google ecosystem, such as Maps, Calendar, and other Google apps, without even changing tabs.

These are some of the new features that have been introduced with the Gemini, making it more powerful and easy to use.

Agentic and safety features

Google Gemini is different from now, because it introduces some more amazing qualities, such as

  • Agentic Capabilities: So, in the coming months, Google plans to introduce some more amazing features to the Gemini, such as agentic qualities, which will allow it to perform multiple steps, such as bookings or ordering something. It will now guide you through each step of the booking process before accepting your confirmation, which feels like AI at its most powerful.

  • Improved scam detection: To improve privacy and security, Chrome uses Gemini Nano, which helps to detect virus warnings and phishing attempts.

  • There will be more control over fake and harmful notification popups.

  • Chrome now makes it easier to change the password with a single click if it detects a risk of a compromised password.

What's Not Yet Here

So these new features are not yet available globally; they are only available to users in the United States, and even then, only in English. Although some features, such as agentic browsing, require time to launch, customers must still wait to use them.

Why this matters:

Although these launches demonstrate how Google thinks of the browser as more than just a web browser but also as an assistant that protects security and privacy. Combining features such as summarization and tab recalling provided users with a more seamless experience in their daily lives. Furthermore, the features that will be released include the ability to do crazy things with greater accuracy and a smarter assistant.
