The testing is currently limited to a small group of customers, enterprise, and education users over the age of 18. These users have the option to opt out of the trial at any time, but for those who choose to participate, they will be able to test and use the new AI-based features in Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Meet.
Google has outlined the various ways in which these AI tools can help users. In Gmail, the AI can assist with composing, replying, summarizing, and prioritizing content. The generative AI can even help create everything from birthday invitations to job cover letters. In Docs, the AI can help with proofreading, writing, and rewriting. This means that articles on any topic can be written more efficiently with the assistance of AI.
On Slides, the AI can help users auto-generate images, audios, and videos, while on Google Sheets, the AI can generate formulas. Even during Google Meet, the AI can help users generate background notes and capture them.
The addition of these AI tools to Google Workspace represents a significant step forward in making these popular tools even more useful for users. While the testing and rollout is currently limited to the US, it is expected that these features will become available worldwide in the near future.
