Kamedi, a German firm, has invented a USB Type-C dongle meant to cure bug bites by creating heat on a metal surface to heal the injury.

The 'Heat-It' USB Type-C dongle by Kamedi is supposed to relieve and perhaps repair itching bug bites. The little gadget, which connects into a phone's Type-C connection, generates heat by using a metal surface. An Android or iOS app allows users to choose therapy time and temperature.

Using the Heat-It device, Kamedi's study published in Acta Dermato-Venereologica showed that focused heat may drastically relieve irritation and pain from bug bites or stings, with over 12,000 treatments provided to 1,700 people.

The Heat-It dongle is a modern, practical alternative to conventional techniques such as hot spoons or warm cups, particularly in outdoor situations or when participating in activities such as hiking. Its app-driven customisation function allows customers to modify the heat amount and duration, outperforming conventional cures.

Bug sprays are great, but the USB-C dongle's adaptability offers compatibility with iPhones and Android devices, taking advantage of the European Union's widespread acceptance of the USB-C standard.
