The Haptic buttons will not click like the physical buttons but instead, send haptic feedback to confirm the pressing actions. This change will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra according to some rumours). The base models of the iPhone 15 series will keep the physical volume and power button seen with the existing iPhone 14 series and all other iPhones prior.
It is also expected by Kuo that future android phones will also follow Apple’s approach and introduce haptic buttons starting with flagship devices.
In addition to reducing the manufacturing cost, Haptic buttons will also improve the water resistance of the phones, as there will be less space for water to get in. Moreover, there will be less wear due to the moving of parts.
The Solid State button will require additional haptic engines on either side of the frame, which will require more space. This might result in a smaller battery and more complicated internals to repair.
The iPhone 15 Pro will come with the next generation of Apple SoC, the Apple A17 Bionic. There are also some rumours stating that the 15 Pro will come with 8 GB of RAM similar to the Samsung S22. The Pro Max or Ultra variant is also expected to come with a periscope lens in addition to the overall improvement in the camera system.
Another significant change that is confirmed is the use of USB-C. This is due to the European Union forcing the use of USB-C connectors in all devices as it would eliminate the need for various cables making it easier for consumers and reducing overall waste.
