In China, Vivo has launched its new Y-series smartphone range, the Vivo Y50m 5G and Vivo Y50 5G. Vivo’s new Y-series lineup boasts the same design and core specifications. However, the key differences can be found in terms of memory as the Vivo Y50m 5G packs memory from 6GB, whereas the Vivo Y50 5G comes with 4GB of RAM. Both smartphones are equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and a 6,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. Vivo has offered 6.74-inch displays with up to 90Hz refresh rates in both devices.

Vivo Y50m 5G & Vivo Y50 Price

Vivo Y50m 5G smartphone is priced at CNY 1,499 (approx Rs 18,000) for the 6GB + 128GB configuration in China, while the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants are available at CNY 1,999 (approx Rs 23,000) and CNY 2,299 (approx Rs 26,000), respectively.

In comparison, the Vivo Y50 5G is available at CNY 1,199 (approx Rs 13,000) for the 4GB + 128GB variant in China. In contrast, the higher spec variants, the 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB variants are priced at CNY 1,499 (approx Rs 18,000), CNY 1,999 (approx Rs 24,000), and CNY 2,299 (approx Rs 27,600), respectively.

These Vivo phones are available in Azure, Diamond Black, and Platinum color options and can be purchased via the Vivo China store.

Vivo Y50m & Vivo Y50 5G Specifications

Both devices come with OriginOS 5 and boast a 6.7-inch 720x1,600 pixels display with 90.4% screen-to-body ratio, 1,000 nits peak brightness, and up to 90Hz refresh rate. Vivo has equipped both smartphones with an octa-core 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256 GB storage.

The smartphones have a 13-megapixel rear camera wth an f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. In terms of connectivity, the devices have Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, 3.5mm audio jack, OTG, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C Port. There is also an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, an e-compass, an infrared remote control, and a proximity sensor. In both Vivo Y50m and Vivo Y50 5G, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication and support for the face unlock feature.

Both Y-series phones have a 6,000mAh battery pack with 44W fast charging support. Vivo has claimed that these smartphones offer up to 52 hours of talk time on a single charge and have the SGS 5-star drop and fall certification. These smartphones measure 167.30x76.95x8.19mm in size and weigh about 204 grams.
