MediaTek Pentonic 800 AI Chip for Smart TVs Announced

MediaTek has introduced the Pentonic 800 AI chip for smart TVs, supporting up to 165Hz 4K displays and advanced AI enhancements. It features 4 Cortex-A73 cores, an Arm Mali-G557 MC1 GPU, and 64-bit DDR4 RAM. The chip offers AI-Super Resolution 3.0, AI-Contrast 2.0, and supports Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, HDMI 2.1a, and USB 3.2 Gen-1. Expected in 2025 OLED TVs from brands like Sony, TCL, and Hisense, it aims to enhance gaming and streaming experiences with improved visuals and seamless connectivity.
