MWC26 Shanghai, organised by GSMA, will take place from June 24 to June 26, 2026, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The event will showcase major advancements in artificial intelligence, 6G technology, and smart mobility, drawing attention from global industry leaders.

Key Highlights

  • MWC26 Shanghai will take place from June 24 to June 26, 2026 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
  • Event will showcase advancements in AI, 6G, smart healthcare, satellite connectivity, and electric motorsport.
  • Smart Mobility Summit will feature autonomous driving, intelligent cockpits, and C-V2X-enabled infrastructure.
  • Nearly 20 domestic satellite communications companies will present innovations in non-terrestrial networks.
  • Formula E Gen3 EVO race car will demonstrate 5G-supported telemetry and real-time team communications.

Key Themes and Zones at MWC26 Shanghai

MWC26 Shanghai will feature four main zones: smarter living, connectivity, healthcare, and mobility. These zones will demonstrate the latest in smart connectivity, including applications in hospitals, transport systems, satellite-backed mobile links, and electric motorsport.

6G and mobile AI will be central themes at the event. The Mobile AI Innovation Frontiers Zone will display AI-powered devices such as smartphones, smart glasses, and intelligent toys. This zone aims to highlight the growing role of AI in daily life.

The event will also focus on embodied intelligence. Embodied intelligence refers to intelligent systems with a physical form that can perceive, act, and interact in the real world. These systems combine large AI models with robotics, sensors, and actuators, enabling them to see, hear, move, and think. MWC26 Shanghai will present these technologies as part of a broader shift in future city development and daily living.

Connectivity and Healthcare Innovations

Connectivity will be a major focus through the new Constellations of the Future Zone. This area will bring together satellite operators, device manufacturers, and industry partners to discuss the latest developments in non-terrestrial networks. These networks are essential for providing coverage in remote regions, mountains, and offshore environments where terrestrial networks are limited.

According to GSMA Intelligence, by September last year, 110 operator groups, representing 67 percent of global mobile connections, had active partnerships with satellite companies. Nearly 20 domestic satellite communications companies are expected to present their latest innovations at MWC26 Shanghai.

The Smart Healthcare Zone will explore how AI and 5G are improving access to medical services. Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University will present its AI-native hospital project, AIMS, which aims to create a Chinese model for large-scale medical AI deployment. Huashan Hospital of Fudan University will showcase three AI-powered initiatives focused on hypertension management, allergy and immunological disease follow-up, and multidisciplinary decision support for gastrointestinal tumours. ZTE and Shanzhen Technology will display an AI-enabled health examination solution designed to improve report generation, interpretation, and quality control.

Smart Mobility and Motorsport Technology

Smart mobility will be highlighted at the Smart Mobility Summit. Visitors can explore technologies ranging from L2 to L4 autonomous driving, intelligent cockpits, software-defined vehicles, and C-V2X-enabled infrastructure. Low-altitude technologies will also be featured, with Xingji Hang (Jiangsu) Technology presenting its STARAIBOX platform. This platform supports inspection and management across more than 100 scenarios, including forest fire prevention, environmental protection, and illegal construction detection.

Formula E will display its Gen3 EVO race car at the event. The showcase will demonstrate applications such as low-latency telemetry transmission and real-time team communications. It will also highlight how 5G technology supports performance and data use in all-electric racing.

MWC26 Shanghai is open to attendees aged 16 and above. Registration is now open for visitors, media, and industry analysts through the official MWC26 Shanghai website.
