Nothing has released an open beta version of its all-new operating system, Nothing OS 4.0, which is built on Android 16. This all-new open bet version provides users with a pre-launch experience, making it simple to choose Nothing phones to test the update before it is officially released. This update includes new tools, improved AI features, and some design upgrades to improve the user experience.
So, one of the most exciting additions to nothing OS 4.0 is its AI dashboard. It demonstrates how to use AI features and allows you to manage them easily. The Essential Space hub consolidates all AI tools in one location for easy access. Multitasking is improved with Pop-up View, which allows users to pin two apps to the screen for faster switching. Design updates include new lock screen clocks, an Extra Dark Mode, and a better Quick Settings layout. Camera features are also enhanced. The new "Stretch" camera preset improves photo details by adjusting highlights and shadows. The system runs more smoothly, and applications load faster. WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity have also improved.
The open beta is now available for: Nothing Phone (3), Nothing Phone (2), Nothing Phone (2A), Nothing Phone (2A) Plus The Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (3a) are not yet included, but the update will be available later.
Users who wish to test Nothing OS 4.0 must sign up before October 14, 2025. You should keep this in mind before using this operating system, as it is still in testing.
