Nvidia has launched its cloud gaming service, GeForce Now, in India. This move allows users to play high-end games on various devices without needing expensive hardware. The service uses Nvidia’s top-tier RTX 5080 SuperPods, enabling access to AAA titles like Cyberpunk and GTA V through the cloud. Gamers can play on smartphones, laptops, or smart TVs at high resolutions.
GeForce Now is powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell RTX architecture, specifically the RTX 5080 SuperPODs. Nvidia claims the service offers up to 2.8 times better performance than the previous server generation. Users can stream games at up to 5K resolution and 240 frames per second. The platform supports integration with existing game libraries from Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Pass, and Ubisoft Connect. This feature allows gamers to access their current game collections without repurchasing titles.
GeForce Now provides access to over 4,500 games. The library includes “install-to-play games” from Steam, which can be downloaded directly onto the cloud for immediate play. Nvidia highlights features such as high frame rates, ray tracing, and ultra-low latency for an enhanced gaming experience.
The service is currently in early access in India. Users must join a waitlist, and invitations are sent on a first-come, first-served basis. Nvidia has introduced special introductory pricing for Indian users. The Performance plan costs Rs 999 for 90 days, while the Ultimate tier is priced at Rs 1,999 for the same period. Both plans include access to “install-to-play games” with a 100GB limit per session. Users can purchase an additional 200GB of storage for Rs 299.
The Ultimate tier supports gaming with the Nvidia RTX 5080 for select games, while the standard for this tier is the RTX 4080. The Performance tier restricts gameplay to 1440p resolution at 60 FPS. Nvidia has also announced a Free tier supported by ads, but it is not yet available.
Nvidia is not the only company offering cloud gaming in India. Jio provides a similar service called JioGames. Additionally, Xbox Cloud Gaming is included with the Xbox Game Pass subscription. Microsoft has recently launched Xbox Cloud Gaming in India, allowing users to play console and PC games on mobile devices and TVs.
