Recently, OpenAI launched a new feature within ChatGpt called Apps in ChatGPT, which allows chatbots to connect directly to third-party apps and interact with them. This all-new rollout can perform all real-world tasks while interacting with third-party apps, all from within the chat interface.
Well, the concept is simple: when you ask chat gpt to do something that involves a third-party app, such as creating a new playlist on Spotify. So, after this command, the app will launch while still in the chat. To protect your privacy and safety, Chat Gpt will ask for permission the first time you use it. Once you grant permission, it will run more smoothly without requiring any additional permission.
ChatGPT has taken a step further by recommending the best app for your specific task. If you ask, for example, "I want to create a thumbnail or design," ChatGPT will try to recommend an app from Canva, Figma, or any other app that is available for that task. This adaptive feature will make the experience intelligent and seamless.
So, for the first stage, there are only a few apps in the partnership, including Spotify, Figma, Canva, Coursera, Expedia, and Zillow. Despite this, OpenAI has confirmed that other apps such as Uber and OpenTable will be added to the list in the future.
Well, this all-new feature, in which the ChatGPTwill strike third-party apps, comes with full security measures that ensure the user's privacy and safety, because it will first ask for permission to connect and then collect only the data required for the task.
So, after these regular rollouts, chat gpt will be more than just a conversational AI app, but also a control panel for your digital life, with all of these steps leading to universal digital assistance. The integration with third-party apps such as Spotify and others demonstrates that AI can handle your daily tasks and make them easier.
