Airtel and Jio customers participating in the iOS 16 beta software program will be able to try out 5G before it goes live in December, according to Apple. The beta program allows users to try pre-release versions of the software and test the latest features before the software is released to the public.
Previously Apple said, “carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance is completed".
“5G will be enabled via a software update and will start rolling out to iPhone users in December," Apple executives said.
The users will need to enrol their iPhones in the Apple beta software program to access the latest public beta and subsequent updates, including his 5G beta, available to Airtel and Jio customers next week.
The beta program also allows a user to provide Apple with feedback on quality and usability. This helps Apple identify and fix problems and make the software even better.
As India rolls out 5G gradually from its major cities, smartphone gamers are working to make 5G available on their devices.
For iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and iPhone SE (3rd generation) models, a software update for 5G is coming soon.
Apple conducts extensive testing with carrier partners to ensure a great experience for iPhone users.
iPhone offers users blazing fast downloads and uploads, better streaming and real-time 5G connectivity so you can stay connected, share and enjoy.
5G support on iPhone has been extended to over 250 carrier partners in over 70 markets worldwide, with expanded support for standalone networks. Prioritizing software upgrades will enable early deployment of 5G in India.
