WhatsApp to Introduce Offline File Transfer Feature

Similar to Apple's AirDrop, WhatsApp is working on an offline file-sharing function that would let users send files without an internet connection. This capability, which works with all platforms, will be especially helpful for transferring big files and in places with bad connectivity.

WhatsApp's iOS file sharing feature uses a QR code scan method, unlike Android's nearby device detection technology. This enhances the file transfer experience by allowing users to share files with people nearby without relying on an internet connection.
